“When we first met, it was less than glorious. We knew there was a spark, but we couldn’t seem to make love work for us. After a period of time, love began to drain us. After a lot of shortcomings, we both realized love isn’t based on personal feelings or asking, “what can I get from this person?” It’s rooted in the willingness to serve someone else so well, that you become willing to surrender yourself fully to that person. It’s as if that person’s wants and needs become the song that your heart desires to dance to. Marriage to us is simply a dance to that heart song. From understanding the difference between when they’re mad, and when they’re just upset. When they’re happy or filled with joy, life’s greatest endeavor is finding that person’s rhythm and dancing along to it. To us, love is more than a feeling. It’s the willingness to surrender ourselves and ask during every moment of life, “how can I better serve you, even if I won’t benefit from it?” That’s how we dance.”
