“Brooklyn Grace. You are the epitome of love, fun and happiness. Your 20 months of life has been the best and most exhausting thing I have ever done. Until you, there had been so many times where I’d wished for a “do-over.” Being your mom has given me that chance, because you my dear, are me… just a pint sized version. We do everything together, which makes you my best friend by default. Even though our days are somewhat similar, there are moments in each day that have become my favorite. I’m so lucky to share them with you. Here they are:

Eskimo kisses. It’s how we start each day, after of course, you kiss and hug the dogs first. There is just something about the way you scrunch your little face that just makes me melt.

Disney Movies. Being a self-proclaimed “Disney Kid,” it is mandatory that I share my love for all things Disney with you. Your obsession with the Little Mermaid is perfection.

Puppy snuggles. Having 3 dogs means you have 3 protectors. It’s so fun to watch you snuggle with them one minute and annoy them the next.

Target Trips. Not only do I get to buy you an unnecessary amount of clothes, but I also get to “show you off.” I basically give Target credit for your outgoing social skills. #thanksTarget

Dancing, but not the cute “‘Old MacDonald” or “Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes” kind of dancing. I mean more like “I want to be a dancer in the next Missy Elliott video” kind of dancing. You have got the wiggle down but pop-n-lock is right around the corner.

Reading books. Even though you can’t sit still for more than 30 seconds, when you come over and sit in my lap with a book it makes me feel like I’m doing something right.

The playground. You love the swings… but you love collecting acorns or “squirrel cookies” more.

Hanging with Daddy. We don’t get much time together, just the 3 of us, but when we do I just love watching him love and spoil you.

Bringing you to work. Some days it’s chaotic, stressful and less than ideal to have you there with me, but I love that I can share my passion for animals with you.

Bed time… Because that means it’s “wine time.” No matter how crazy our day might have been, the last 30 seconds with you before I lay you in your crib are my favorite. You grab my cheeks, shake your head back and forth and just say “I laaaaah you!” over and over in the sweetest, silliest voice. I seriously feel like my heart could burst at any moment after that.
