Welcome Brianna, we are happy to have you! You have two businesses going, would you like to tell our fans about that?
I’m blessed to be able to have my photography business as well as a design business. My photography focuses on weddings with families and seniors sprinkled in, and my design business focuses on helping other photographers focus their brand and creating logos and websites! I love both for different reasons but they both allow me the creativity I crave, and I am so thankful for that.
How long have you been doing your photography? And what do you shoot with?
I have been doing photography since I was 15, that’s 8 years if I’m counting but my business just had it’s one year anniversary on January 1, 2013! I learned on a Canon DSLR all those years ago, and owned a Canon 50D for years but when I officially started my business I chose to join the dark side, Nikon, and I’ve never looked back!
What is your go-to lens?
That’s tough, and a tie, I’d say I use my 35 1.4G more often because of versatility but my favorite lens is my 85 1.4G!
We notice you do fabulous stylized shoots. What is your inspiration for these or how do you get booked to shoot these sessions?
Networking! That’s what styled shoots are about for me, an opportunity to work with other industry professionals and I swoon over styled shoots, so every time I get the chance, I jump at them. The shoots I’ve styled myself are for my own soul and to feed my creative passion. They light the fire when things are dim.
What is one thing that you did wrong when you started your business that you wish you could go back and change?
I wish I had researched education more thoroughly, that I would have chosen where to invest in learning more purposefully, before attending particular workshops. I loved the friendships I gained, which made them well worth it, but the knowledge and business know how just wasn’t what I had hoped for. I hope one day I can help educate other photographers on all the things I was begging to know in the beginning and floundered to find. I am 100 percent self taught and the internet was my biggest tool!
Where can we find you next?
Everywhere I hope! My goals for 2013 are huge, I want to connect with my clients, to style more shoots, and be published in some of my favorite wedding blogs.
