Created by Melissa, of Melissa Hines Photography, Cities in Color was created to push each other creatively, through finding colors in our local cities. Each month Melissa picks her favorite 10 images, with the top three images including their stories. The community chose the color brown for the month of June. July’s color is gray.
Melissa has chose her top images and they are as followed:
“We are visiting my husband’s hometown in Eastern Europe and my boys see every day here as an adventure. They don’t miss an opportunity to explore and made no exception when they stopped to nosily peek through the cracks in this fence while we were on a walk. I loved the hues, the lines and texture of the fence and knew I had to grab a quick shot of the moment and this bit of brown we found around town.”
“We took a rare trip to the inner city of Sydney, Australia where we used to live before we had children. I wanted to show my son the incredible street art that adorns the laneways around the city but all he wanted to do was go to the park instead – typical suburban child. His legs tired, he sat down and sulked in the perfect spot for me to capture him with this beautiful artwork with all it’s lovely color and texture.”

“The first stop on a photowalk through downtown Lancaster was Central Market, the country’s oldest farmers market. So many stands with produce, meats, flowers and dairy to choose from. This great selection of mushrooms caught my eye as we were walking through the aisles, because I don’t see this amount of variety at the grocery store.”
