Welcome Cris!! Tell our fans a little about yourself!
Hi Everyone, Cris here!!! I am a natural light photographer based in South Florida. Although I specialize in Maternity, Newborn and Babies I have a huge passion for newborns. I am married to my High-school sweetheart and we’ve been together for 19 years. We have two beautiful kids: Victor is 9 and Bella is 7. I always loved photography but never thought I would be a photographer. I’ve been in this business for almost two years and this has been my passion since then. I am a chocoholic and a coffee lover.
What pulled you into photography and specifically newborns?
I love to photograph the tiny babies, I don’t know exactly how this passion started because when I first started photography I was shooting almost everything, but every time I do a newborn session my heart is filled with joy; I love to give their families a lifetime memory; I love to photograph their little and fragile details.
When you’re shooting, what do you typically have with you?
My camera Canon 5dmiii, my favorite lenses 35mm 1.4, 100mm 2.8 macro, 85mm 1.8, my cell phone working as a white noise, hand sanitizer, a reflector ( to bounce light or when I am with a baby outdoor to block the direct light).
Which is easier to photograph, boys or girls?
I think there is no easier or harder baby to photograph, if we schedule the sessions during the first days of the baby’s life and if parents follow my instructions the session will run smoothly. But definitely girls are easier to style.
What other newborn photographers do you follow on Facebook?
Well I follow a lot of photographers, my favorite newborn photographers are: Robin Long, Baby as Art, Rachel Vanoven, Erin Tole, Kelley Ryden and Tracy Raver, Kimberly G, Keri Meyers, Milk and Honey, Stephanie Robin, Erin Elizabeth, and so many more I can’t get all the names here!!!
Any new projects coming up in 2013?
My projects for 2013 are: moving to a dream studio space, since I do my newborn sessions at my “home studio” and also offer newborn posing mentoring and editing.
