They’ve been with me since the very beginning — before I really knew anything about shutter speed, aperture, or ISO. They’ve always trusted my vision and allowed me creative freedom, and because of that, every one of their sessions display an authentic connection. They allow their children to be wild and free. They laugh, play, and snuggle. They enjoy themselves, and it shows. For this session, I knew I wanted the location to be the wildflower field my husband planted just for me on the back of our property. It possesses many of the same qualities as this family – joy, beauty, and full of light and love.”

Artist Biography: Elyse Rowland, of Elyse Rowland Photography, is a lifestyle + documentary photographer in Kalamazoo, Michigan, specializing in family, maternity and newborn. She focuses her energy on creating organic, authentic and emotionally charged images. In addition, Elyse enjoys living the simple life on her family’s homestead, raising two rowdy little boys, and documenting their sometimes peaceful, but mostly chaotic, everyday moments.
