The Story:
“No matter how they arrive into our arms and our homes, the season of a first child in parent’s lives is unlike any other. Time slows, sometimes achingly so, and then suddenly you find that weeks have gone by, spent in the stillness of the night and the blur of the day.
It is, I think, as a mindfulness practice of a kind. No one to be but you. Nothing to do but exactly what the present moment requires. And it and you and they are enough. They are the real Zen masters, these little loves, of this I am sure.
I love newborn sessions! LOVE! Documenting first-time parents in those first few days of bringing the baby home is magical – what a gift to be a witness! Baby Samuel and his mom (Becca) and dad (John) were a total delight to be with.
These images bring me so much joy – I remember what those days were like with my own child, and I’ve got all the feels.”
