Inspiration Behind the Daily Fan Favorite

Karen Osdieck is a self proclaimed hobbyist photographer but you would never know by looking at her image of her son in the bath tub that she calls “Magic Bath Light”. Karen saw the light illuminating behind her son while bathing him and said that she couldn’t resist the angelic feeling that she felt while looking at him and snapped this image. “I was inspired to make this everyday childhood moment of taking a bath into a portrait with an emotive connection!” Karen reveals.

Karen enjoys photographing her two boys and over the past 2 years has really put a lot of time and effort into learning how to utilize and manipulate light to convey her vision and bring depth of field and dimension to her images. She really loves dramatic lighting and has been trying out an ice light to enhance her vision. Her daily inspiration, whether happy or sad, usually thrives from her children. Their innocence and honest moments take her photography to the next level.

Karen notes that she chose F/4 because she shot this fairly close to him and wanted to make sure she had a large enough depth of field.
