“There is something about having little girls. Their hair when they twirl in their princess dress, their sweet little voices, the unique bond they have with mommy and daddy. This in-home newborn lifestyle session shows the connection and love between two awesome parents and their two little girls.
When shooting sessions with newborns, I love to make a special connection with the parents and the kids so they feel comfortable and trust me. One of my favorite things to chat about is birth stories. This mommy made it into the hospital with under 30 minutes to spare before her baby arrived!
Also, I love seeing grandparents and the joy they have seeing their children now with their own. During our shoot, grandma was getting emotional watching her little girl with her own two little beauties on her lap. My approach to shooting this session, like many of my in-home lifestyle shoots, is to give little direction and tips to get real interaction and connection from the family. I like to play with light from the windows and see how it transforms the moment.
This particular session and setting lent itself especially well to black and white photos, and just love how the light and shadows were captured.”
