“Our lives are nothing if not grand stories, and we are convinced that among the vast sprawl of the cosmos there is a page that only we can write. On the fourteenth day of June, the year two thousand and fifteen, Irina Olson accepted the invitation of Nicholas Konetzke to pen a set of volumes together. Most of the story has yet to be conceived but they are determined that it be an Epic in the classic sense. And what better way to begin an Epic than with a celebration.
Awaiting the celebration of our union as man and wife naturally leads to reflection on all the moments that have brought us here. Our story began on the isthmus in Madison, Wisconsin, where we both went to school, both became friends with some of the most fantastic people in the world, and both learned how to love. It seems impossible for us not to have become friends over the good beer and strong coffee we shared. And the possibility of falling in love became a thrilling reality through dates of biking around the lake or dancing to whatever music played (or didn’t play). Waiting to share a life together as husband and wife is not easy, but this sweet season will be a cherished gift to sustain us when our love is tested, refined, and perfected, like gold in a blazing fire.”
