I’ve been so blessed to have met so many new people this year. While my photography business may have started with all my friends asking for photos, it’s morphed into shooting half for friends and half for new clients. My friend April, from April Burns Photography, and I are in several groups together online but it took me way too long to realize she was from Oklahoma! A while back she asked if I would be willing to come to her farm to photograph her and her family.
They were so kind and her sweet boys were so excited to show me their goats and cows! Apparently I just missed the birth from one of their calves too. It can be super intimidating photographing other photographers because when you move them into the light you know what they’re thinking and they know what you’re thinking.
April’s spirit put me immediately at ease, as she let me decide where around the farm I should photograph. May I remind you this woman takes stunning photos of her boys around the farm, daily. She knows all the good spots but she allowed me to work freely while she connected with her mighty men. It was perfect. We hugged and I didn’t want to leave! I am still hoping I get to go for another visit soon!
