The Story:
“A love of the outdoors was something that my mother instilled in all of her children. While we went hiking and camping in states beyond our own, some of our greatest adventures were right within the area surrounding our home.
The youngest of four, the chaos was natural and I fell right where I felt safe, in the shadow of my older sister who graciously took me right along under her wing. All along, our mother never missed a beat. Minot Beach, as you might imagine, always sounded and felt like a magical place. The smell of the ocean air was pristine, the sand warm between our toes, and the endless beach seemed to slow down time.
Going back now, as an adult, it seems as though nothing has changed. The smell of the ocean air brings back memories of climbing the rocks and exploring tide pools, homemade picnic lunches, admiring the wildlife, and enjoying life with my siblings. Better yet, I am now able to share the experience with my own daughter, with my sister still there supporting me along the way.
The images that Danielle captured emulate the same serenity and magic that I felt that very same day walking along the water. They show the beauty and honors of motherhood and are a great reminder of all the adventures that await us.”
