Rustic New York Engagement Story’s
from the bride to be Nikki:
“Tim and I met when we were 16 years old and we were friends all through high school and college. Tim asked me out quite a few times throughout our friendship but I never took him seriously and always looked at him as just a friend. Fast forward ten years later, we both moved back home to Upstate NY around the same time and started hanging out. Tim once again asked me out on a date, so I finally decided to give it a chance…and we’ve been inseparable ever since. Five years later, in the middle of a snow storm, he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife in the exact same spot that we shared our first kiss and our first “I love you.” It was simple, romantic and perfect. Our best moment yet!
We have always loved the idea of someday owning a big farmhouse and Tim has always had a thing for barns. So when it came time to decide what to do for our engagement photos, doing the shoot outdoors on a farm really fit us so well. After talking to Tracey about ideas for the shoot, she mentioned a farm that a friend of hers had and how they also had a vintage red pick-up truck we could use. As soon as she said the words “vintage” and “pick-up truck” in the same sentence, I was immediately hooked! To make things even more perfect, Tracey found an antique tandem bicycle…which brought a whole new fun and unique element to it all.
I am obsessed with antiques and anything vintage, so the bike paired with the farm was just the perfect setting! As soon as we pulled up to the farm for the engagement session, it all felt completely “us.” Once we saw that red truck and the imperfect beauty of the old barns, both Tim and I were so excited. The best part was that Tracey saw the same beauty that we did in it all and was just as excited as us. We are so lucky to work with someone as incredibly talented as Tracey, and couldn’t have asked for a better photographer to capture our vision and style. ”
