The Story:
“Juliet and Dhember have been friends since college. They went to Italy for a semester together, were both in each others weddings, and are the type of friends you know will be around in 50 years! So, when it came around time for Juliet one year anniversary with Will, we knew we wanted to do a little celebration shoot with them. Juliet and Will have been living in Dayton, Tennessee since they got married. It is the town we all went to school in, the town we all met in, the town we all fell in love with our wonderful spouses in, and the town where Will grew up. In May of every year Dayton holds the Strawberry Festival. There are vendors filling the downtown square, a fair comes to town, there is a huge parade through town, and there are strawberries – lots of strawberries! Because of scheduling we knew we wouldn’t make it for the actual festival, which I was very sad about. So my husband, Justus found a great little self pick strawberry farm for the two of us to visit to satisfy my desire to be part of the festival. When he mentioned the farm I immediately thought it would be the perfect location for a photoshoot to encapsulate the essence of their time in Dayton thus far, plus Will and Juliet wanted a more intimate location than the actual festival for the photographs! The day of the shoot we were worried it would rain, that they wouldn’t allow photography etc., but it couldn’t be more perfect. Lorenzen Family Farm is a small family owned business who welcomed our photography session. It had everything: strawberries, a field of yellow flowers, the old red tractor, the old farm truck, and even a beagle that followed us around carrying a strawberry in it’s mouth! The rain held off long enough and everyone enjoyed the afternoon. After the farm, Will and Juliet went home, changed and picked up their rescue dog, Mattie and we went for a walk in the park.”
