“I remember getting that first excited email from Sara basically wanting to book me then and there. She was anxious to work with me as she had been “insta-stalking” my profile for some time now. What I loved most about her description of what she wanted was the lack of detail. All she really wanted was to capture her son Camden, exactly how he is right now. She wanted all the snuggles, the giggles, tears… all of it. The moment I met these two I knew they were going to quickly become some of my favorite clients. The crazy amount they loved on this child just warmed my heart and I couldn’t stop smiling. They would pause to mention to me how obsessed they were with adorable little boy, and continue to smother him in snuggles. This type of session is how I wish every one would go. I want to see you just loving on your child. You want to look back at these photos and feel something, not see a posed portrait.”
Artist Biography: Amy Hanen, of Amy Frances Photography, is a Brooklyn based family and lifestyle photographer. Having gotten her start in the wedding industry as a second shooter, Amy’s focus has always been the moments in between. The little flashes of emotion that you might miss if you aren’t paying attention. Most of Amy’s friends are mothers with kids, and her life has been full of being the amazing “Aunt Amy” to just about everyone’s littles. Her passion lies in documenting her families exactly how they are, right now. Messy hair, mis-matched clothes, all of that helps tell the story of where the family is in this stage of life. Amy’s photos aim to capture real emotions evoked in the session, rather than posed portraits. She meets her clients as they are in their most comfortable space to become part of their world, and not the other way around.
