Vision of Rose Photography
Jameelah Scott Makeup Artistry –
Hello! I am Rosey with Vision of Rose Photography! I am a mother of two amazing little ones; Zophelia Jade and Zayne. I am also a wife to my wonderful and supportive husband, Zeryk. I am the owner of Vision of Rose Photography and founder of our newly launched campaign, Loving the Skin I’m In (you can find more information on my website about the campaign). My business was founded in December of 2012 and since then, I have had the pleasure of meeting so many different people! I focus mostly in women’s portraiture and senior portraits. My specialty is glamour, however, I also photograph families, couples and occasionally, weddings. I love collaborating with local talent and I was so very lucky to come across Jameelah Scott of Jameelah Scott Makeup Artistry!
Together, she and I birthed the idea behind the shoot you are about to see; Royalty. She said to me that she wants to build her portfolio and she has a model on standby waiting for a session when I’m ready. I already had inspiration for a styled shoot using the colors purple and red together. I threw the idea her way and she loved it! Together, we worked out the details, planned the shoot and the magic unfolded. Our model, Brittany, was so easy to work with and can I just say.. she is GORGEOUS!!!! Wow! She pulled the look of perfectly.
The details of the shoot were mostly DIY, which I am all for! I created the headpiece she is wearing from a Styrofoam ringlet that you use to make a wreath from, some satin ribbon, satin flowers and a hot glue gun! I cut and molded the wreath, wrapped the ribbon, glued it down and then glued the flowers on, one by one. The golden vases and plate were all spray painted by me. Some of them are actually spaghetti jars that I washed out, let dry and painted! The jewelry was purchased from Shop Miss A and Misty’s Mystical Jewelry. The red rose ball is from BizouBizou in Canada. All of the flowers for her headpiece, the ribbon for her headpiece, the wreath for her headpiece, the flowers in the vases and the birdcage were all purchased on clearance at Michael’s and the letter “R” for Royalty was purchased at Target! Our beautiful model provided her own gorgeous gown after we sent her the vision board for the shoot. In all, putting together this shoot cost me less than $30.00!
